The development of the proposed Skyway Plaza shopping center requires the design of an acceptable wastewater system that will fit within the regulatory constraints pertaining to high groundwater and limited depth of soil. In order to accomplish this task, Haling & Associates needed first to complete the assessment of the wastewater production and characteristics.  This activity defined the quantity and quality of the waste stream.  This commercial shopping center will have an estimated 36,000 gallons per day wastewater flow.  A review of the data utilized for this estimate was needed to size an appropriate wastewater treatment plant. A review of the existing data was completed and included the design parameters and assumptions used from previous studies so as to eliminate redundancy and gather existing site specific conditions. Haling & Associates began corresponding with the Town of Paradise and the Regional Water Quality Control Board demonstrating a clear understanding their concerns and opened a dialogue that lead to the approval of this project. Currently, Haling & Associates is completing the conceptual designs for this wastewater treatment/disposal system and construction is slated to begin in early 2007.   

Haling & Associates is currently providing services by way of technical man hours, investigations, evaluations, and design as part of a design-build project. The project entails the re-construction of the piping and electrical controls for the irrigation cannons for disposal of treated effluent. Haling & Associates, as part of this project attends project meetings and performs regular site visits, prepares site plans of the project area, new cannon area layouts, design drawings and specifications utilizing the latest in ACAD software following the clients conventional drawing standards and with all specifications compatible with Construction Specifications Institute standards. Haling & Associates is providing quality service to help expedite the design phase such that a Notice to Proceed for construction can be issued post haste.
